浅草には靴職人さんが沢山いて、以前、凄腕の職人さんに連れられてドジョウ鍋を食べに行きました。

はじめてドジョウを食べて「うまいなぁ〜！！」と思ったのですが、私は鰻が大変好きでして、メニューに鰻の白焼きが載っていたのでシメに頼んだんですね。

そしたらドジョウ以上に鰻が美味すぎて、そこら辺の鰻屋よりも美味ぇんじゃねーかと思い、大変驚きました（笑）
というわけで、そのお店の看板メニューも凌駕しちゃう料理の様な、オールデンっぽくないけど素敵なオールデンをご紹介します。

オールデンといったら、NO.8コードバンのチャッカ 、プレーントゥ 、ロングウィング 、Vチップ、タンカーブーツ辺りが圧倒的な人気を誇っています。

ただ、オールデンには隠れた名品が非常に多くて、これからどんどん紹介をしていきたいのですが、こちらの#994 サドルシューズもそんなモデルの一つです。

同じバリーラストでもシングルソールのため、ダブルソールのチャッカ 、プレーン、ロングウィング に比べると華奢な雰囲気をしており、羽根も内羽根のためスマートな印象です。

昔のボストニアンなどは、このデザインのコードバンモデルを沢山作っており、米国のファッションにも良く似合うので、とても格好良いですね。

こちらの靴を履く際の注意点として、内羽根のため、シューレース下の閂に少し裂けが発生をしやすいのと、シングルソールのため、返りは良いですがダブルソールのオールデンに比べると、やっぱり減りは早めとなります。

こちらは、とても良い時代に購入をされているので、革質も非常に良く、程よい赤みと光沢感があります。

オールデンっぽくないところが、初めてのオールデンとしても非常にオススメ出来る一足です！！

There were many shoe craftsmen in Asakusa, and I used to be taken by an expert craftsman to eat a loach pot.
